Release Note

Budget pressure does not only change how much people spend. It changes how they justify, defer, or emotionally frame a purchase.
Observed tension
A constrained wallet changes the meaning of every later decision in the session. Cheap items become easier to rationalise, while delayed purchases can feel more 'responsible' even when they are not strictly necessary.
This is part of why SpendLens treats the budget stage as a framing mechanism, not just a setup screen.
What this means for the product
- Budget explanation must be clear and credible
- Recurring commitments need to be visible, not hidden
- Overspend should require an explicit decision rather than happening invisibly
